Message To Parents

Dear Parents/Guardians:

Excellence is the quality standard set for education at Westminster College. Each teacher works in partnership with students, families and the community to ensure that our children get the best education possible. This includes the development of personal character.

The students of Westminster College are blessed with a great, natural environment: beautiful beaches, benevolent climate, international airport, financial institutions, ultra modern condominiums and, across the street, state of the art health care facilities

However, the most important factor in defining the quality of life here is the way our students and teachers interact with each other. The Character Counts Programme is committed to ensuring that life at Westminster College, the way we deal with each other, reflects the six positive pillars of character: TRUSTWORTHI- NESS, RESPECT, RESPONSIBILITY, CARING, FAIRNESS and CITIZENSHIP.

It is difficult for children to do the right thing when they do not know what the right thing is to do.

We believe that as long as you live, your character will determine the quality of your life. Our children may represent approximately 60% of our population but they are 100% of our future.

We invite you to take an active role in working with us to make our child’s education meaningful, fun and character- enriching.

Character Education

We base our Character Education on the Six Pillars of Character as defined by the Josephsen Institute of Ethics.

The Six Pillars: TRUSTWORTHINESS, RESPECT, RESPONSIBILITY, CARING, FAIRNESS and CITIZENSHIP are taught throughout the school year across all areas of the curriculum and at all grade levels - K-4 through Grade 12. Each pillar is highlighted during a specific month. However, in order for Character Education to be effective, it must be taught and reinforced in school, at home, and in our community.

Our Expectations

  • Each student is a critical thinker and problem solver.
  • Each student is a responsible, productive citizen.
